NEW FOOTBRIDGES IN WAKEFIELD
Our society has recently funded two new footbridges in Wakefield. Both bridges were constructed by volunteers supervised by the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers.
The first is on North Elmsall footpath 9 connecting South Elmsall with Wrangbrook. It replaces a very dilapidated plank and is a very welcome improvement. Wakefield Council are completing improvements to the path surface and reinstating part of the path on the definitive line as part of the agreement.
The second is on Ackworth footpath 13. The path is part of a popular route connecting the villages of Ackworth Top Moor and Low Ackworth with the villages of Thorpe Audlin and Wentbridge. A comprehensive signposting scheme and some path surface improvements are due to be carried out by Wakefield Council as part of the agreement.
