Signposts – Where they are

The Peak and Northern Footpaths Society has a long and proud history in the provision and maintenance of signposts.  The first signpost SP1 was planted in 1905 opposite Carr Meadow Farm in the parish of Hayfield at grid reference SK03469 89463, and is still standing in excellent condition.  That’s 100 years of excellent use, and a tribute to our predecessor’s abilities to both produce and maintain such durable and handsome pieces of work.

Over the last couple of years we have accelerated the number of new signs planted and we are always interested in suggestions for new sites. To let us know, click here.
