Over the last few years the Peak & Northern Footpaths Society has received an increasing number of requests from the general public and members for information about walks suitable for people with limited mobility and a range of disabilities, for those who use wheelchairs, and for those with children in pushchairs and buggies.
So, in enthusiastic response we have started to gather appropriate information about suitable walks from all those local authorities who have responsibility for footpaths, trails, parks etc and access within our region (by “our” we mean the PNFS defined areas of Derbyshire, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire).
These new pages give the useful information we have located to date and we will continue to research, add to and develop these pages. We would very much like to hear from you about your experiences on the walks described, and in particular about any information not shown which should be added. Also we would like to receive details of walks not featured that we could add to our site to enhance the enjoyment of others.
If you have any comments, ideas or information please contact us.
