Walks For All: Staffordshire

What information is available?

Staffordshire County Council are committed to improving access to the countryside, and have a web page Access for All summarising their provision.

Information about Country Parks and Picnic Areas and Greenways, with a map and links to trails. Some web pages give more details about gradients, designated parking and toilets, and suitability for those using wheelchairs.

They also publish an events guide, Guided Walks & Countryside Events in Staffordshire which provides information about events at their range of sites, with routes, gradients, facilities, and whether the trail would be suitable for people with disabilities or young children.

Their Tramper Trails leaflet gives information about ‘Trampers or All Terrain Scooters’ for hire from the Visitor Centre at Cannock Chase Country Park. The Trampers / All Terrain Scooters are available to use free of charge (although donations are welcomed). The Tramper Trails leaflet states the designated trails are specifically aimed at wheelchair and all terrain scooter users. Printed leaflets only (not downloadable).

A future possible target within the Staffordshire Rights of Way Improvements Plan (ROWIP) is to publish a Countryside facilities for the Disabled leaflet although there are no further details at present.

Where can I find the information on the council web site?

Where can I obtain a printed leaflet?
